    'Dr. Gerd Maass currently serves as Senior Vice President Scientific Partners

      for Microbiology and Molecular Biology at the University Heidelberg. Dr. Ma
     ass then performed his PhD Thesis in AIDS Research in a collaboration with t
     he University Tübingen & Boehringer Mannheim. From 1993-1995, Dr. Maass work
     ed as Postdoc at the Institute for Molecular Pathology Vienna (IMP), with fo
     cus on Clinical Gene Therapy, before joining MediGene AG Munich, where he se
     rved as department Head of Gene Therapy (rAAV vectors).<br> Dr. Maass entere
     d Roche in September 1997 as International Program Leader Gene Therapy, with
      multiple clinical programs in US and Canada. He acted between 2001-2006 as
     Herceptin Lifecycle team member and HER-2 Franchise Diagnostic Leader, befor
     e getting 2007 appointed as Global Head of Research & Development at Roche A
     pplied Science. From 2008-2010, Dr. Maass served as the CEO and President of
      Roche NimbleGen Incorporation in Madison WI, USA. After his return to Europ
     e, he was appointed as the Roche Pharma Business Leader for Strategic Progra
     ms in Region Europe.<br> 2015, Dr. Maass became the European Head of the Fou
     ndation Medicine Incorporation (FMI) Business, with overall responsibility f
     or business development in all EU countries. In 2018, he joined the global
     Roche CEO Office with strategic program responsibilities, until resuming his
      current role as senior vice president scientific partnerships in 2022.
